Thomas, A Guy I Know

An Analog in a Digital World

That’s how he felt

The world was spinning around him

He wanted to spin a rotary phone

Digital?  He mused

Yes, I have 10 digits

And 10 more

On my hands and feet

What was most amusing to him

Was being out of digital step

Not from lack of knowledge

But lack of desire

Life is passing you by, they say

Get in this century, they implore

Why? he queries

I’m happy where I am

So he will remain

Till the rough-hewn timbers

Surround his body

Sleeping like a log—analog, that is!
