Right there

Between the slabs of concrete

In that gap

Nature will not be silenced

A few small flowers

Yellow and white

Stubbornly pop up in the concrete crack

Reminding us of many things

We can ravage the earth

Cuts its forests

Dig into it ground

Pollute its air

Nature bends to our will

For a moment

A moment in Nature’s time

Not ours

Soon nature will prevail

It may not take the same shape

It may not support us

Like it has before

Just as Nature has grown between the cracks

Learned to grow between man’s foibles

We should grow in peace with nature

Or we may not grow anymore
