Comfort

nopeasforever

Emotions had raged within her heart and soul

She felt she would never settle down

Have a night’s peace

Have a good day

The death of her mother had devastated her

Her last parent

The father, the step-father

Passed long ago

Her mother lived with her

She enjoyed a parent from the adult view

Not the view of a child

They laughed together daily

Her devastation was compounded

She was in the room when her mother passed

Now her mother’s ashes rest

In the house where they both lived

The day was a bit cool and she needed something

Mother’s sweater was still in the closet

She put it on and felt comfort

She felt the embrace of her mother once again

(This is dedicated to the mother of a dear friend. Her mother died recently.)
